(Monday and Friday are mandatory working days with the remaining hours being worked flexibly across the rest of the week).

Wrexham Glyndwr University is seeking to appoint an Academic Quality and Student Governance (AQSG) Coordinator to join the the newly restructured Academic Quality and Student Governance team within the Academic Registry.

The post holder will be responsible for ensuring that high quality services are provided to students and staff, with key responsibilities around:

  • Managing the production of award certificates using specialised software, Microsoft Access and Excel and the University’s student information system (SITS);
  • Assisting with the organisation of the University’s Graduation ceremonies;  
  • Providing administrative and secretarial support for various AQSG processes including student panels and external examiner functions. 

The post offers an excellent opportunity to gain experience of a wide range of university processes and internal and external computer software, including the University’s student information system and software for the production of award certificates.

The successful candidate will either be educated to foundation degree level or equivalent or have significant and relevant experience of working within a higher education administration environment, and a demonstrable record of Continuing Professional Development.  Excellent IT skills, a high standard of written and oral communication skills and the ability to implement procedures effectively with excellent attention to detail are essential to this role.

Candidates’ skills, particularly IT skills, will be tested at interview.

This role also requires the ability to work flexibly, and to work additional hours/days as required at peak times of the year. Peak times of the year will typically be from around mid-October to mid-November in preparation for the University’s Graduation ceremonies and during the main certificate production period.
