To allow us to continue this philosophy, the School of Social and Life Sciences are looking to appoint a committed and enthusiastic individual in the role of Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Applied Exercise Physiology, who will be integral in the continued development of programmes including Sport Science, Health & Exercise Science and Football Science, Coaching Science within the department. The department is also seeking to extend its portfolio provision to include Physical Activity & Exercise and Nutrition addressing the contemporary issues relating to sport.

An enthusiastic and dynamic specialist is sought to join an innovative and experienced team of academics. The post holder will be responsible for the development (or contributing to the development) of an innovative hybrid degree programme in the area of human performance science (sport, exercise and health). The post holder will be required to manage and teach modules relating to performance sport (football), health & exercise, physical activity, performance science (applied physiology), and contribute to research methods where relevant. The successful individual will support student’s development through the personal tutorials and will supervise undergraduate and post graduate dissertations. S/he will have an emerging track record in applied work / research and will be able to contribute to developing research profile of the department. This post holder may have a background and passion in the area of performance science (physiology discipline), applied physiology testing (field and laboratory based), applied health science (physical activity & exercise) across the age range, and the innovative use of technology.  An ability to understand the holistic approach (multi-disciplinary) to sport and health will be an advantage.
