FIXED TERM POST – FULL TIME FOR ONE YEAR

A pro-active, self-motivated and well-organised individual with excellent attention to detail is sought to join the University’s Academic Registry team. The post holder will be aligned with one Academic Faculty and act as a key contact point for guidance on quality matters. Working within the Academic Quality and Student Governance team within Academic Registry, you will have a detailed knowledge and understanding of HE academic quality assurance frameworks and be able to provide appropriate guidance on procedures regarding programme approval, review and amendment. This 1 year fixed term post provides an opportunity to lead in the planning and delivery of programme review and validation events; programme annual monitoring; undertake committee work to support Faculty Boards, the Learning and Teaching Quality Committee and attend the Academic Programmes Sub-Committee. You will also assist with the processing of student claims for Recognition of Prior Learning and liaise with academic teams regarding submissions for accreditation by Professional, Statutory and Regulatory Bodies and oversee the External Examiner processes and provide information and guidance on such. The post-holder also has a key role in reviewing and maintaining the University’s Academic Quality Handbook and driving forward opportunities for ongoing enhancement to the student experience. 

The successful candidate will be an excellent communicator, who can work well both independently and as part of a team, and will act as first point of contact on academic quality and standards matters for students and University staff. The post-holder will work closely with one other Senior Quality Officer who supports a different Academic Faculty. Excellent report writing and IT skills are essential. The Senior Quality Officer is supported in their work by, and line-manages, a Quality Coordinator. A key attribute is the ability to manage & prioritise a large and diverse work load, meet concurrent deadlines, with a proactive approach. 

Please note that delivery of a short presentation will be required as part of the selection process.

The ability to communicate in Welsh is desirable for this post.

This post is a 12 month fixed term appointment.
