This is a fixed term post (24 months) funded by the Inspiring Science Fund.

North Wales Science is seeking four part time (22.5 hours per week) Community Science Communicators to join the expanding Projects team.

North Wales Science Ltd operates Techniquest Glyndwr, the science discovery centre in Wrexham.  The centre is relocating in 2020 and this role will deliver the wide-reaching outreach work, primarily through engaging under-served and under-represented local communities.

The Community Science Communicators will assist with the development, delivery and evaluation of the “Heart of the Community – Calon y Gymuned” project, which will see the organisation redefine its purpose and presence and relocate into Wrexham town centre.

The roles will require people who; have a keen interest in science communication and community engagement, are highly organised, and are able to work independently and as part of a team.  A key part of this role is to develop relationships with target communities and assist in the co-creation of new initiatives to reach underrepresented and underserved audiences through STEM (science, technology, engineering and maths).

Applicants will possess excellent organisational skills, excellent communication skills, and have an approachable and enthusiastic personality. The successful candidates will have first class interpersonal skills.

The ability to communicate in Welsh, Polish or Portuguese is desirable for this role.
