Fixed Term for two years.
37 hours per week.
The Business Administration Intern, based in the Vice-Chancellor’s Office, will report to the Senior Executive Officer and be a part of the Directorate support team in the provision of an effective and efficient secretarial and administrative support service to a Member of the Executive.
You will be expected to manage your own time and carry out a wide range of general office tasks such as responding to phone calls and emails, handling visitors, preparing correspondence and documents, undertaking procurement and financial processes, managing diaries and maintaining secure files and servicing Committees through the preparation of papers and minute taking.
You should be a recent graduate and possess the following key skills
- Good word processing and general IT skills with a knowledge of Microsoft applications
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Be able to work in a confidential manner at all times.
- Be able to operate effectively using own initiative as well as part of a team
In addition the following would be desirable:
- Good and relevant experience in an executive office environment
- Business and/or IT qualification and the experience of working in HE.
- Be able to manage a range of diverse tasks and work to tight deadlines
- Have a good standard of written English
The ability to communicate in Welsh is desirable, but not essential. However, a sympathy with Welsh cultural heritage and an understanding of current developments in Wales is essential.
