We are looking to recruit an Organisational Development & Diversity Advisor to work in the HR Team here at the University.  The role will assist the Organisational Development & Diversity Manager providing a comprehensive OD&D and EDI service, contributing to the development, implementation and evaluation of a range of OD&D and EDI strategies.

With a passion for people, Organisational Development and Equality, Diversity and Inclusion, the OD&D Advisor will assist the OD&D Manager to deliver the University’s OD & EDI objectives, including supporting learning and development, mentoring, succession planning, engagement and the achievement of the University’s Strategic Equality Plan.

You will assist the OD&D Manager to improve overall organisation performance and effectiveness, contributing to key objectives within the University’s People Strategy as required and proactively contribute to the development and delivery of engagement and EDI initiatives. 

Following a successful probationary period and once embedded into the University’s culture there will be an element of line management ensuring a comprehensive administration service is provided by the OD&D Assistant.  

The ideal candidate should have the following qualifications (or be willing to work towards):

  • CIPD (minimum level 5) qualified
  • Equality, Diversity & Inclusion Qualified or equivalent experience.
  • Experience of working within an OD/EDI setting

The Human Resource Directorate actively supports the strategic objectives of the University by providing strategic leadership and guidance on a range of areas to managers and staff.  It provides a comprehensive HR service including guidance, advice and support on policies, recruitment, remuneration & reward, performance & development, equality & diversity, employee relations and engagement and organisational development & training.

We operate a business partner model, through a small team of HR professionals, delivering a range of customer focused solutions.

Reporting to the OD&D Manager as OD&D Advisor you will be responsible for providing a comprehensive service across the University including corporate responsibilities and projects.  You will also be responsible for the day-to-day provision of a proactive and professional OD&D service to all staff and managers within the University.

  • Be a Graduate of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development or studying for or equivalent experience

To succeed in this role you will need to be able to evidence;

  • A systematic, thorough, and well-organised approach to work with evidence of the ability to work to deadlines with minimal supervision, whilst maintaining attention to detail. 
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and simultaneous tasks whilst still ensuring deadlines are met and tasks completed. 
  • Demonstrable ability to use own initiative and work independently but knowing when to seek further advice.
  • Ability to drive planned initiatives and campaigns through to completion

The successful candidate should possess excellent communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with all staff groups both verbally and in writing.

The ability to communicate in Welsh is desirable for this role.
