An exciting new opportunity has arisen for a senior management position as Head of business and Services of the prestigious OpTIC Technology Center in St Asaph. The OpTIC Technology Center is part of the Wrexham Glyndwr University campus network and is a modern flagship Innovation and Research centre based on the St Asaph Business park. The OpTIC Center has been operating for over 18 years supporting businesses with conference and meeting facilities, business incubation facilities and developing their own world class Photonics and Optical innovative products and processes.

Due to expansion of its operations this new role has been created for a Head of OpTIC Business and Services, the post holder will have specific responsibility for the leadership and management and development of all the business operations throughout the facility. Business operations include conferences and meeting facilities, incubation, undergraduate healthcare courses, the commercial optical systems team and building facilities management.

Reporting to the OpTIC Director The post holder will have experience of multi-disciplinary team management within either a commercial or academic organisation. They will be an experienced senior manager or director with experience of managing budgets, staff, academic grants and business development activities across multiple business groups and preferably (but not essential) within a technical discipline (preferably Photonics and/or Optics).

The post holder will have a strong background in management systems development and have strong IT skills. They will be expected to represent the organisation at the highest level delivering presentations and reports at board level. Working together with the Director of OpTIC they will be key to developing future strategy and direction for the centre to continue to best serve the business communities.  

The ability to communicate in Welsh is desirable for this role.
