We are looking for an exceptional person to take on the role of Research Impact Manager. 

The Research Impact Manager will be responsible for developing and embedding impact activities, focusing on the key areas of Science, Technology and Engineering. They will maximise researcher engagement with external audiences both non academics and users of the research. They will engage with the academic community to understand their research and its potential impact to all potential stakeholders. They will develop impact case studies for external audiences including REF as well as media content. Becoming the focal point for impact within the university the Research Impact Manager will need to be able to engage effectively with academic and professional services staff across our four campuses to understand their research area(s), its purpose and its impact on the wider community. They will then need to communicate this to a variety of audiences in appropriate language. 

The position is based in the Research Office but the post holder will also work with the Enterprise Team to promote broader aspects of research with government, local authorities, charities and companies. They will work closely with the Marketing and Recruitment team who will provide advice on communications channels and content strategy.

The Research Impact Manager will provide leadership, strategic advice and support to a wide range of stakeholders in respect of impact, seeking out impact stories and communicating them across a wide variety of outlets. They will need to be able to grasp complex information and present it in a digestible form. They will demonstrate the contribution of the University to society, the economy and the wellbeing agenda.

Welsh Language skills are desirable for this role.
