Senior Lecturer in Computing (Cyber Security)

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Computing team at Wrexham University in a senior lecturing capacity. We are looking to recruit a full-time Senior Lecturer to support our expanding Cyber Security curriculum.

The post holder will be expected to deliver, and programme lead where appropriate, a wide range of programmes within Cyber Security and Computing including our suite of postgraduate online programmes and to provide teaching on a variety of core computing modules at undergraduate and postgraduate level.

Candidates must have evidence of Master’s level study in Cyber Security, or a related technical subject, and either have a PhD in a relevant research field or be working towards one and be committed to further professional and academic development. A CEH, CISSP or similar professional qualification is desirable for the role as well as experience within Cryptography and Cyber-Physical systems. 

The successful candidate will need to demonstrate excellent communication and organisational skills, with proven experience in writing, collating and submitting documents and in bringing together and coordinating teams.  The role is varied and challenging so you will need to be a highly self-motivated individual, who is able to work flexibly and to tight deadlines, both autonomously and as part of a team.  A commitment to developing innovative teaching practices and the ability to engage with transnational education and industry partners and seek out new collaborative opportunities is required. The ability to speak Welsh is desirable, but not essential to this role.
